Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for double weekend shifts to provide high-quality patient care across various healthcare settings. The ideal candidate will have experience working with diverse patient populations, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring specialized care such as memory or behavioral health. This role involves assisting with daily activities, monitoring vital signs, and supporting medical staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Candidates with a strong background in medical documentation, EMR/EHR systems, and infection control are highly preferred.
Duties
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts.
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately and report any abnormalities to nursing staff.
- Provide specialized care for patients with dementia, Alzheimer's, or memory impairments, including engaging activities and safety measures.
- Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation in medical records and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures such as catheter care and wound management.
- Assist in patient transfers and positioning to prevent pressure ulcers and ensure comfort.
- Document patient care activities thoroughly within EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in settings like ICU, emergency departments, outpatient clinics, or long-term care facilities.
- Follow infection control protocols for infectious disease care and in sterile environments like operating rooms or trauma centers.
- Support patients with behavioral health needs or developmental disabilities through compassionate caregiving approaches.
Qualifications
- Valid CNA certification required; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred.
- Experience working in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care settings is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and patient safety standards is essential.
- Ability to work effectively with patients and other employees as a team
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work compassionately with people who have disabilities or complex medical needs.
- Demonstrated ability to adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including days, evenings, weekends, or holidays as required by the healthcare facility.
