About the role
We are a luxury residential electrical contractor working on high-end custom homes across Phoenix Metro and amazing remote locations. Our projects feature Lutron HomeWorks QSX, Tesla Powerwall and Savant Power whole-home battery backups, solar, and complete structured low-voltage wiring.
We're hiring a journeyman electrician to be the core of a luxury residential crew — someone who can take a custom home from start to finish quickly, cleanly, and to the standard our clients expect. You'll install complete electrical systems independently, serve as the primary technician for Lutron panel wiring, specialty fixture installation and battery backup integration, and work to the design laid out by our master electrician — with a defined path to becoming one yourself.
Crews report to our Mesa office each morning and job sites are across the Valley, so you'll need to live within a reliable commuting distance of Mesa (roughly 30 miles). This role also includes some travel — our projects take us across Arizona and surrounding areas, and no two homes are the same.
Pay is $33–$42 per hour, with salaried position opportunities depending on experience.
What you'll do
- Take a custom home from start to finish — underground and rough-in through top-out, trim, and final — working from plans with minimal oversight
- Handle full panel installs and circuit wiring (200A–800A) — service entrances, meter bases, disconnects, subpanels, and clean home-run layout
- Wire and install Lutron systems — HomeWorks QSX, Ketra, Rania, and RadioRA 3 panel wiring, device install, lighting circuit layout.
- Install solar and battery backup — inverters, and power optimizers; Tesla Powerwall, Savant Power, Sol-Ark and automatic transfer switches; commission EV chargers
- Troubleshoot and diagnose faults across every system in the house — line voltage, low voltage, and energy storage
- Supervise and train apprentices — delegate, QC their work, teach the standard, and keep the crew moving
- Pass inspections the first time — clean, code-right work that never stalls the builder's schedule
- Build toward your master license — assist with load calculations, single-line diagrams, permit packages, and AHJ inspections as you grow
- Travel to project sites across Arizona and surrounding areas, with occasional overnight stays
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of residential electrical experience — you can take a house from underground to final without hand-holding; no license required, we hire on demonstrated skill
- Strong working knowledge of the NEC — especially Articles 210, 220, 230, and 250 (branch circuits, load calculations, services, grounding and bonding), plus AFCI/GFCI requirements
- A problem-solver — advanced troubleshooting is the job; when something doesn't work or doesn't match the plan, you figure it out or flag it early instead of burying it
- Trustworthy — you'll work independently in occupied, multimillion-dollar homes; you do the job right when no one is watching
- Motivated — you own your scope, stay ahead of the schedule, and want the master track, not just a paycheck
- Detail-oriented — our clients have expensive floors, millwork, and custom finishes; protecting them is part of the job
- A crew leader — comfortable supervising, training, and checking apprentices and helpers
- Complete set of hand tools; reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
- Able to reliably report to our Mesa office every morning — we hire from within roughly 30 miles of the shop
- Willingness to travel across Arizona and surrounding areas
Nice to have (master-track skills)
- Load calculations, single-line diagrams, or permit submittal experience
- Lutron HomeWorks QSX system architecture — processor counts, zone layout, wiring topology
- LED Linear Lighting experience - We do a lot of linear lighting in different applications
- PV system design exposure — string sizing, inverter selection, utility interconnection paperwork
- Estimating or project management experience
- Lutron, Savant, Tesla certifications
Why work with us
- $33–$42/hr, with salaried position opportunities depending on experience
- Company vehicles run from our Mesa shop — report in, take a company truck to the site, and keep job-site miles off your own vehicle
- High-end custom homes only — no tract housing, no big-box retrofits
- Hands-on work with Lutron, Tesla Powerwall, Savant Power, and solar — skills that set your resume apart
- A real master track — work under a master electrician, take on design, load calcs, and permitting as you're ready, with support toward your own master license
- Small crew — you are not a number here
