- Valley Medical Care is seeking an experienced Laboratory Supervisor to lead the daily operations, quality programs, regulatory compliance, and technical oversight of our busy clinical laboratory. This position plays a key leadership role in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant laboratory services while supporting a collaborative team dedicated to exceptional patient care.
The Laboratory Supervisor serves as the primary liaison between the laboratory, Lab Director, and Clinic Administration regarding operational, clinical, quality, and regulatory matters.
What You'll Do
Laboratory Operations & Leadership
- Manage daily laboratory operations and workflow to ensure efficient, accurate, and timely testing services.
- Develop, implement, and maintain laboratory policies, procedures, and work standards.
- Supervise laboratory staff, including hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, competency assessments, and performance management.
- Coordinate staff work assignments and provide technical guidance and support.
Quality Assurance & Regulatory Compliance
- Maintain and improve Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) programs.
- Monitor analytical performance and investigate testing deviations or deficiencies.
- Review quality indicators, proficiency testing results, and corrective actions.
- Participate in peer data programs, Levey-Jennings chart monitoring, standard deviation exception review, and trend analysis.
- Ensure compliance with CLIA, OSHA, CMS/HCFA, and other applicable federal and state regulations.
- Prepare for inspections and maintain required documentation.
Technical Oversight
- Ensure acceptable performance of all laboratory testing systems.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and implement corrective actions when needed.
- Perform and oversee waived and moderate complexity testing.

- Equipment & Inventory Management
- Oversee laboratory equipment maintenance, calibration, quality control, and troubleshooting.
- Manage laboratory supply and equipment purchasing to support cost-effective operations.
- Coordinate vendor relationships and inventory management.
- Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement
- Analyze laboratory productivity, quality metrics, and operational performance.
- Prepare reports and presentations for leadership.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency.
- Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Laboratory Sciences, or another science-related field.
- Current MT(ASCP) or MLS(ASCP) certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a laboratory technologist in a moderate complexity laboratory.
- Ability to meet and maintain annual Technical Consultant competency requirements.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory quality systems, regulatory compliance, and accreditation standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

- Previous laboratory supervisory or management experience.
- Experience with CLIA moderate complexity laboratory operations.
Pay: $59.00 - $60.00 per hour
