Certified Coder with a strong background in ICD-9 coding; preferably in an outpatient environment. We are currently looking for immediate help with prospective and retrospective review projects. This process requires the Coder to identify acute and chronic clinical conditions, assign accurate ICD-9 codes based on documentation guidelines to the highest specificity.
- Position is PRN contract work
- Hours are flexible, day, night and or weekends
- Position is remote, work from your home
- This is a production driven environment. Accuracy and consistent production are required
Candidate must have the following requirements:
- Certified Coder
- High-speed Internet Access
- Current reference materials
- Computer, with antivirus software, Word, Excel, and the ability to open PDFs (Adobe Reader)
- Strong computer experience
- Strong ability to work independently
- Must use appropriate grammar and have the ability to articulate chart assessment or utilization review in writing
- Experience with Risk Adjustment is preferred
- ICD-10 knowledge is a plus
