The PLC AND SYSTEMS MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN plays a vital role in keeping production running smoothly by maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving the plant?s electrical and automated control systems. Operating primarily on the third shift, this individual supports daily manufacturing operations, fixes software and hardware issues, and collaborates closely with facility mechanics and engineering teams to implement system upgrades.

Responsibilities:
System Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Automation & Control Systems: Troubleshoot, resolve, and optimize analog/digital electronic controls, PLC programming, HMI systems, and network communications.

Instrument Calibration & Repair: Install, maintain, repair, and calibrate pneumatic and electronic process control instruments (pressure switches, flow tubes, gauges) to prevent downtime.

Architecture Compliance: Enforce corporate standards and compatibility for all new software and electrical components.

Asset & License Management: Track software versions, maintain licenses, spec contracts, order equipment, and secure service agreements.
Operational Leadership & Safety

Technical Guidance: Direct and assist plant mechanics to ensure efficient machinery repairs.

Food Safety & Quality (SQF): Partner with QA to execute food safety programs and comply with SQF standards.

Safety & Facility Protection: Enforce site safety precautions, ensure PPE usage, and maintain/protect physical assets, tools, and materials.
Documentation & Process Improvement

Documentation & Standard Operating Procedures: Develop work order procedures for new equipment/technology and document all system modifications.

Skills Development & Support: Participate in technical training and complete operational tasks as assigned.

Experience:
Qualifications:

Minimum Education: High school diploma, GED, or higher is required. College-level coursework in electronics or industrial controls is highly preferred.

Professional Experience: 1 to 2 years of related experience (or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience).

Core Technical Requirement: Previous hands-on experience working directly with PLC controls and logic circuits is required.
