We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Sterilization Technician to join our oral surgery team. In this vital role, you will ensure the highest standards of infection control and sterilization procedures are maintained to promote a safe and efficient surgical environment. Your expertise will support our doctors and oral surgery assistants by preparing and sterilizing instruments and maintaining a sterile clinical setting. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to exceptional patient care through meticulous sterilization practices. We will provide on-the-job training.
We have 5 offices located in Waukesha, Oconomowoc, Johnson Creek, Mukwonago, and Slinger. Travel to all office locations will be required on an as-needed basis.
Duties
- Prepare, sterilize, and organize dental instruments using advanced sterilization equipment in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Operate autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, and other sterilization devices while adhering to aseptic techniques.
- Room patients for appointments including taking vital signs.
- Follow HIPAA guidelines diligently to protect patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Support infection control initiatives by implementing proper hand hygiene, PPE usage, and sterilization techniques aligned with industry standards.
- Assist with obtaining x-rays including 3D cone beam (CBCT) and panoramic images
- Collaborate effectively with the oral surgery team including administrative staff and clinical assistants to optimize patient flow and clinic efficiency.
Experience
- Previous experience working in a clinical environment is preferred but not required, especially in roles involving infection control or sterilization processes.
- Hands-on experience with x-ray imaging, taking vital signs, and patient care enhances your ability to support clinical workflows effectively.
