About the Position:
The AV Field Engineer II (FE) is a key member of the Operations team responsible for configuring, commissioning, and validating AV systems to ensure they meet performance expectations and are delivered to customers with zero defects.
This role bridges engineering design and final system delivery—working both in staging environments and onsite to ensure systems function exactly as intended. The FE partners closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Field Engineering leadership to ensure high‑quality execution and continuous improvement.
What You Will Do:
Job Responsibilities:
- Configure and commission AV systems in staging and on‑site environments
- Interpret and validate installation drawings (signal flow, facility diagrams, etc.)
- Configure network switches, IP addressing, and device communication
- Load and validate DSP programs, control systems, and video routing
- Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and final validation checks
- Commission audio DSP systems (gain structure, measurement, performance tuning)
- Complete staging and commissioning checklists (AV9000 standards)
- Identify design or hardware issues and collaborate with engineering on resolutions
- Coordinate with fabrication technicians and installation teams to ensure system readiness
- Maintain documentation, best practices, and system configuration standards
- Participate in project kickoff, handoff, and post‑project review meetings
- Support continuous improvement by providing feedback on processes and system design
- Track time accurately and support project reporting requirements
- Travel up to 50% to project sites
What We’re Looking For:
Education and Certifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience:
- 2+ years of AV industry experience
What We Prefer:
- 2–4 year college degree
- AVIXA CTS certification
- CTS‑D or CTS‑I
- Audinate, Q-SYS, Biamp, Crestron, or Extron certifications
