About the Field Service Engineer

Quick Facts: Field Service Engineer
- Location: Detroit, MI area
- Travel Requirements: 75%–100%. The standard schedule involves departing on Monday and returning on Thursday or Friday, ensuring weekends are spent at home.
- Pay: $25 – $40 / hour 100% Paid Travel Time (door-to-door).
- 2-Week Structured Training: New hires will undergo a dedicated 2-week training program to master Wire EDM technology, company protocols, and specialized software.
- Ongoing Support: Continuous access to technical documentation and senior engineering mentorship to ensure your success in the field
Primary Responsibilities
- Installation & Training: Set up Wire EDM, high-precision machinery and provide basic operational training to customers.
- Technical Support: Diagnose and repair electronic and mechanical issues on-site.
- Troubleshooting: Use multimeters and oscilloscopes to analyze equipment performance.
- Customer Relations: Act as the technical face of the company, communicating analysis and solutions to clients and management.
Requirements
- Education: Associate’s Degree in Electronics or equivalent practical experience.
- Technical: Ability to read electrical schematics and use testing equipment.
- Soft Skills: Professionalism under pressure and excellent customer-facing skills.
- Independence: Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
[Preferred]
- Working knowledge of CAD/CAM systems.
- Familiarity with materials, tooling, and end mills.
- Familiarity with Wire EDM
