The Sanitation Crew Member is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing equipment, tools, and facility areas in alignment with the company’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and sanitation standards. This role supports overall regulatory compliance by maintaining a clean, safe, and inspection ready environment. The position requires proper handling of sanitation chemicals, consistent use of PPE, and adherence to OSHA safety requirements.
Start Time: 7 am start time, flexibility to work overtime or weekends
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform cleaning and sanitizing tasks on equipment, tools, floors, and facility areas according to company sanitation procedures. Follow PPE requirements and use protective equipment correctly based on assigned tasks. Handle sanitation chemicals safely and follow all SDS guidelines and chemical-use instructions. Maintain compliance with GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and follow all posted hygiene and facility rules. Protect food safety by reporting any contamination, unusual odors, or product/environmental concerns immediately. Follow facility safety rules including OSHA requirements, IIPP guidelines, and workplace safety signage. Operate safely in the warehouse environment, staying aware of forklifts, equipment traffic, and potential hazards. Complete required sanitation documentation, checklists, and cleaning logs accurately and on time. Communicate sanitation issues to supervisors, Food Safety, or management as appropriate. Support inspection readiness for audits, customer visits, and internal reviews by maintaining clean and compliant workspaces.

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required 1–2 years of experience in sanitation in manufacturing, food production, or warehouse environments
Ability to understand and follow SOPs, safety instructions, and sanitation procedures. Ability to learn and apply chemical safety rules and SDS guidelines.
Ability to work in cold storage and ambient warehouse temperatures. Ability to communicate clearly with supervisors and team members.
Ability to learn company policies related to GMPs, PPE, and hygiene expectations. Flexibility to work overtime or weekends based on operational needs.
Knowledge of GMP, GFSI, FSMA, HACCP, or ISO standards is a plus Strong communication skills Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, or other relevant food safety standards
Good communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to25 lbs.
Ability to Stand for long periods, bending, lifting, and walking and perform repetitive movements. Exposure to moving machinery and production equipment.
