Tumino’s Towing has been in business for over 35 years. Our company has extensive experience in heavy towing, light and medium duty towing, road service and emergency recovery with an outstanding safety record. We continue to invest in our fleet of tractors, trailers and all of our equipment each year adding capacity to keep up with customer demand.
Tumino's Towing also offer mechanical services in most of our shops. We are seeking to add an experienced, results-oriented individual with a stable work history for a Field Tech/Road Service Mechanic + Flatbed/Light Duty Driver position.
Duties:
- Responsible for performing routine maintenance, servicing, and repair of refrigerated, chassis, and intermodal equipment.
- Perform PM/FHWA inspections.
- Majority of repair work and maintenance will be performed at a customer’s location or at an off-site breakdown.
- Follow paper-flow procedures, including documenting correct mileage/hours, save and tag all warranty and core parts, document all repairs.
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and organized manner.
- Should have 1-2 years experience driving a flatbed tow truck.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of brakes and suspensions.
- Knowledge of hydraulics.
- Knowledge of refrigeration units and related components.
- Skilled in diagnosis and repair of electrical systems on equipment.
- Skilled in welding and cutting (not required)
- Skilled in DOT inspections.
- Previous experience as a mechanic preferably 3+ years.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work well independently.
