Aircraft Component Hydro Technician
Hydro Technicians are responsible have the authority and responsibility for performing maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alteration tasks as directed and assigned in accordance with the applicable maintenance data and this manual. Specifically, they are responsible for the hydrostatic testing and repair and overhaul of pressure vessels for nearly every type of regional airline, corporate and military aircraft.
We are currently searching for a full-time Hydro Technician. This is a full-time position, paid hourly. This position is Monday - Friday 7am -4 pm with a possibility of overtime at our facility in Los Alamitos, CA.
Duties/tasks include, but not limited to:
- Perform daily calibration of hydro test stand.
- Using hand tools, installs, and removes fittings and plugs to perform hydrotesting static testing.
- Perform hydrostatic testing on cylinders per applicable CMM’s and SOPs.
- Wash, dry, and stamp cylinders as part of the hydrostatic testing process.
- Complete log of tested cylinders.
- Apply epoxy to labels and touch up paint as needed.
- Complete daily scrap of expired and failed cylinders and complete applicable log for traceability.
- Maintain tool calibration and upkeep and notify shop supervisor or maintenance manager of any expired or broken tooling.
- Perform preventive maintenance as required.
- Carry out the assigned tasks, in accordance with the applicable maintenance manual and this manual.
- Ensure maintenance operations are performed in the appropriate sequence (as determined by the applicable maintenance data)
- Inspections are requested in an orderly and timely manner and that maintenance activities are performed according to the appropriate maintenance data and customer requirements
- Ensure that all test equipment or tools used to make airworthiness determinations are labeled in accordance with this manual before use
- Request stock as required for the work being performed
- Complete the appropriate paperwork
- Reading, and comprehending technical manuals, electrical schematics and blueprints, and other repair station data written in English
- Specialized knowledge can be developed through OJT.
- Other duties as assigned
