Caregiver: 8 & 12 hour shifts available. We are a small 'family-feel' senior living community & we focus on teamwork.
Duties:
- Provide direct care & assistance to residents in a senior care facility, assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting & eating).
- Monitor & document residents' vital signs, symptoms, & behavior.
- Help administer medications & treatments as directed by healthcare professionals/Med Techs
- Ensure the safety & well-being of residents by following established protocols and respecting resident rights & dignity.
- Assist with mobility & transfers, using proper lifting techniques.
- Provide emotional support & companionship to residents & help them participate in fun activities, as led by Activities staff.
Skills & Experiences:
- Experience in caregiving or working in a nursing home or residential care setting is preferred - but we will train positive energetic team players.
- Knowledge of systems & procedures related to resident care, familiarity with resident rights & regulations for long-term care facilities is a plus.
- Ability to provide compassionate care to individuals with diverse needs & backgrounds.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices & behavior management strategies is preferred
- Strength & ability to lift/assist residents, & assist with lifts & transfers of residents
