LHH Recruitment Solutions is working with a real estate company to fill a Property Accountant position in New York City. This role is fully onsite and will be on a consulting basis for 6+ months, with the potential to evolve into a permanent position for the right candidate. Responsibilities-
Manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of properties, including general ledger activity and month-end close

Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations

Review financial statements and perform variance analysis

Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable related to assigned properties

Partner with property management teams to ensure accurate financial reporting

Maintain supporting schedules and documentation for audits and compliance

Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
Qualifications-
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

4+ years of property accounting experience within real estate portfolios

Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups)

Exposure to Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) properties strongly preferred

Experience with Yardi, MRI, or similar property management/accounting systems

Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
$37-45/hr
Pay Details: $37.00 to $45.00 per hour
