Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, brakes, suspensions, and electrical systems across heavy equipment and vehicles.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on trucks, farm machinery, industrial equipment, excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other heavy machinery.
- Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding and hand tools to ensure proper fit and function.
- Use schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues accurately.
- Replace or repair shocks & struts, air brakes, alignments, power take-offs (PTO), HVAC systems, and other vehicle systems to maintain safety standards.
- Assist with equipment assembly, installation, and testing of new machinery or components.
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all repairs performed to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic or similar role within a dealership or industrial setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and vehicle diagnostics.
- Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and farm machinery.
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex mechanical issues.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering using power tools.
- Proficiency in automotive electrical system repair, tire service, alignment procedures, suspension work, and brake repair.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various environmental conditions safely.
