The purpose of the Housekeeper at Atherton is to maintain the cleanliness of our Skilled Nursing Facility and other common surfaces with speed and accuracy without sacrificing quality work. The purpose of the Housekeeper for the Skilled Nursing wings of Joslyn, Fox 1 & Fox 2 is to maintain the skilled nursing rooms in the highest possible state of cleanliness, and to adhere to the State and federal laws governing skilled facilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Clean commodes, mirrors, and lights.
· Vacuum and damp mop floors.
· Spot clean walls
· Clean picture frames, drinking fountains, fire extinguishers and cabinets that are accessible in the area.
· Dust all vertical and horizontal ledges.
· Empty and wash trash receptacles, inside and outside.
· Vacuum all carpeted areas.
· Clean marks on floors.
· Strip and clean beds according to the schedule posted at the nurse’s station.
· Wipe soiled linen containers with germicidal solution.
· Service all paper dispensers.
· Clean and stack housekeeping cart before storing.
· Report all soiled carpet and any other unusual things to the Director.
· High dust ceilings, walls, and vents.
· Clean refrigerators in assigned areas.
· Clean all windows and screens in assigned areas.
· Clean balconies and railings.
· Order supplies and remove Attends bags (weekends).
· Clean soiled and clean linen rooms.
· Clean staff offices in assigned areas.
· As needed deep clean and disinfect resident rooms.
REQUIRED OTHER FUNCTIONS:
· Attend and participate in continuing education programs.
· Be willing to work beyond normal working hours when necessary.
· Be able to maintain confidentiality concerning resident health information.
· Assure that residents’ rights and dignity are protected at all times.
· Be aware of the safety of residents and employees at all times.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED:
· Be able to read, write and speak the English language.
MENTAL DEMANDS:
· Be able to handle frequent interruptions.
· Be able to handle emotionally upset residents and family members.
· Ability to work harmoniously with co-workers.
· Be able to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
· Works in well-lighted, ventilated work areas.
· May be assigned to cover areas other than those regularly assigned if needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
