The Project Manager is responsible for planning and managing the project team to ensure engineering projects are completed according to project plans, on schedule and on budget.
Key responsibilities include
Project planning, project management, keeping projects within scope, ensuring project financial success, team leadership, project scheduling, meeting deadlines, project quality control, relationship management, project documentation and collaborating effectively with the project team.
Typical Duties
- Planning and coordinating all aspects of technical projects from initiation through closeout.
- Developing, defining and executing project plans, project scope, activities, schedules, budgets and deliverables.
- Identifying needed resources for projects; defining project roles.
- Coordinating activities and tasks among project team members, internal departments and client or vendor/subcontractor organizations, as needed to meet project goals, and ensure project completion is on schedule, within budget constraints, and of the appropriate quality standards for the project scope.
- Assigning and monitoring the work of the project team, providing analytical support and direction.
- Interfacing with external clients or field-based employees on technical matters as needed.
- Managing project risks, issues/problems, and tracking activity progress to ensure that project goals (e.g., deadline, scope and quality) are achieved.
- Assisting with problem resolution or risk mitigation as needed.
- Managing the integration of vendor/subcontractor tasks and tracking and reviewing vendor/subcontractor deliverables, if appropriate for the project.
- Serving as liaison between technical and non-technical teams, in internal organizations as well as in client and vendor/subcontractor organizations, to ensure all project targets and requirements are met.
- Conducting project closure activities to formalize and communicate project acceptance.
- Travel to customer sites in accordance with project/customer needs.
- Assist with sales functions such as customer meetings, project takeoffs, BOM development and project feasibility studies.
- Complete and maintains timesheet daily, detailed expense and travel reports.

- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
Educational and experience requirements include:
Technical background required, Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an equivalent level of training/ experience
- CAPM or equivalent Project Management certification or the ability to complete within 12 months
- Agile/SCRUM project management experience
- Relevant experience in an Engineering or Engineering Project Manager role
- Proven ability to work within defined project scopes, budgets and deadlines
- Proven ability to understand client goals and anticipate client needs
- Effective collaboration skills
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail
- Above average written and verbal communication skills to interact with customers and internal team
- Proven team leadership and relationship management skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Suites: Word, Excel, Projects, Teams and Dynamics 365.
- Assist in writing operator’s manuals, sequence of operations, and other documentation as required.
- Create and update quality documentation as needed to maintain best-in-class performance with customers.
- Complete and maintains timesheets daily, detailed expense and travel reports.
- Assist with sales functions such as customer meetings, project takeoffs, BOM development, and project feasibility studies.
- Some travel required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree or the equivalent combination of education, training and work experience.
· Familar with controls, automation, SCADA, and instrumentation.
· Familiar with Siemens, Rockwell Automation, Wonderware, and/or Ignition platforms.
· Siemens Automation certification a plus.
· Experience in process automation, water/wastewater, and pharma applications a plus.
· Familiar with UL508, ISA, ISO, IEC, NFPA, and other industrial standards.
· Strong organizational, planning and interpersonal skills.
· Must have a Valid Driver’s License.
· Must be authorized to work in the United States.
