Maintenance Technician - Food Processing -3rd Shift - $30 h/r - $40 h/r - Cleveland, OH
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining all plant equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical skills, preventative maintenance experience, and the ability to work in a physically demanding industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on plant equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Monitor machinery performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain operational efficiency.
- Perform welding, fabrication, and mechanical repairs on industrial equipment.
- Repair and fabricate conveyors and related components as needed.
- Complete maintenance documentation and electronic records accurately.
- Operate industrial maintenance tools and equipment safely.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with OSHA and company standards.
- Follow all safety procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair 3-phase 480V electrical systems.
- Working knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs.
- Welding and fabrication experience in an industrial environment.
- Ability to recognize electrical hazards and work safely around energized equipment.
- Experience using voltage testing equipment and electrical PPE.
- Ability to interpret and apply NFPA 70E safety requirements.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to obtain powered industrial truck/forklift certification.
- Must provide and maintain personal tools required for the position.
Preferred Qualifications
- PLC troubleshooting experience.
- Pump and valve maintenance experience.
- Experience working in a manufacturing, recycling, food production, or heavy industrial environment.
