Tool & Die Maker
Full-Time | $22.00 – $26.00/hr | Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
ABOUT THE ROLE
Flexco is seeking a skilled Tool & Die Maker to join our machine shop team. In this role, you will build and repair precision tooling using a variety of machining operations and measuring instruments, working from blueprints and sketches to create and modify tools, dies, jigs, and molds. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build, modify, and repair tools, dies, jigs, and molds from blueprints and sketches
- Operate lathes, end mills, grinders, drill presses, welders, and related equipment
- Use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, tape measures) to hold close tolerances
- Troubleshoot tooling issues and identify root causes to implement effective solutions
- Read and interpret blueprints, safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Maintain accurate records and communicate clearly with team members and supervisors
- Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Follow all shop safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Minimum 5 years of tool and die experience
- At least 2-3 years of formal Tool & Die training or apprenticeship
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- CNC machine and programming basics
- Must supply own hand tools
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and stand for up to 7 hours per day
- Experience with CNC machining and/or programming
- Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Basic computer proficiency (email, spreadsheets, record-keeping systems)
Preferred:
- Journeyman Tool & Die Maker Certification
- Manufacturing or machining certifications from recognized industry organizations
EQUIPMENT YOU WILL USE
- Manual lathe, end mill, grinder, drill press, welder, and power tools
- Precision instruments: calipers, micrometers, tape measures
SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (8-hour shifts)
Pay: $22.00 – $26.00 per hour, based on experience
