Growing shop looking for an experienced automotive mechanic who takes pride in quality workmanship and enjoys working on classic, custom, and performance vehicles. This isn't a flat-rate production environment. You'll be part of a team that restores and builds vehicles the right way, with an emphasis on craftsmanship, attention to detail, and doing the job correctly the first time.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on classic and custom vehicles.
- Remove, rebuild, and install engines, transmissions, rear ends, suspension, steering, and brake systems.
- Perform complete vehicle tear-downs and reassembly.
- Install aftermarket performance components and upgrades.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams and service manuals.
- Assist with LS swaps and other drivetrain conversions.
- Troubleshoot fuel, cooling, electrical, and drivability issues.
- Work closely with fabrication, body, and paint technicians to ensure each project is completed to a high standard.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of automotive mechanical experience.
- Experience working on classic, muscle, and custom vehicles is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of carbureted and fuel-injected engine systems.
- Experience with engine and transmission removal and installation.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.
- Familiarity with aftermarket performance parts and upgrades.
- Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Experience
- LS engine swaps and tuning preparation.
- Vintage vehicle restoration.
- Performance suspension and brake upgrades.
- Air conditioning systems, including Vintage Air installations.
- Electrical troubleshooting and wiring.
- Basic fabrication and welding experience.
