We are seeking a dedicated and patient-focused staff hospitalist to join our inpatient care team in Rutherfordton, NC. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, evidence-based medical care to hospitalized patients while collaborating closely with nursing staff, specialists, case management, and hospital leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care for adult patients

Perform admissions, daily rounding, consultations, and discharges

Manage acute and chronic conditions in collaboration with specialists

Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and coordinate care plans

Ensure timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)

Adhere to evidence-based guidelines and hospital protocols

Support initiatives aimed at reducing length of stay and readmissions

Participate in quality improvement and patient safety programs

Maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards

Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and discharge planning

Collaborate with primary care providers to ensure smooth transitions of care

Work closely with case management and social services to optimize discharge outcomes
Hospitalists at Rutherford Regional enjoy traditional 7 on/7 off block scheduling and reasonable patient census consistent with community hospital standards.
Qualifications:-
MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school

Board certified or board eligible in internal medicine or family medicine

Eligible for or currently holding an unrestricted North Carolina medical license

Strong clinical judgment and teamwork skills
