Jeanne Jugan Residence - Little Sisters of the Poor is seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activity Director to plan, organize, and oversee engaging activities and programs for our Home and its residents in Newark, DE. The ideal candidate will foster a positive environment that promotes social, physical, and mental well-being for residents of the Home.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate a variety of recreational and social activities tailored to the interests and abilities of participants.
- Coordinate daily activity schedules and ensure smooth execution of programs.
- Collaborate with staff, volunteers, and community organizations to enhance program offerings.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, participation, and program outcomes.
- Manage activity budgets and resources effectively.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards related to activities.
- Promote a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all participants.
- Provide training and supervision to activity staff and volunteers as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation, or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in activity planning or recreation management, preferably in a healthcare, senior living, or community center setting.
