Role Summary: The Development Coordinator, in collaboration with the Provincial and the Provincial leadership team, is responsible for the Province’s development efforts, supervising the development office, cultivating relationships, establishing yearly fundraising goals, and deepening a culture of philanthropy among benefactors and members of the Province.
Responsibilities:
◦ Oversees, develops, and implements the Province’s fundraising efforts, as indicated in the DEVELOPMENT AUDIT by American Philanthropic, July 2017, including but not limited to annual giving, events, campaigns, in-house mailings, major gifts, planned giving, and grants.
◦ Supervises the development office staff by providing direction, ongoing feedback, and an annual review based on the job descriptions.
◦ Cultivates relationships with Basilian donors, friends, benefactors, and apostolates.
◦ Creates new initiatives for raising funds and cultivating relationships.
◦ Collaborates with the Provincial Administration to develop a budget and establish benchmarks per Province guidelines.
◦ Works with the Province Administration on gift reporting and gift restrictions to ensure all gifts are processed and acknowledged appropriately per the Province’s requirements and the donors’ requests.
◦ Oversees development materials to ensure development and communication programs align through paper and digital outreach to Basilians, friends, and benefactors.
◦ Promotes Estate Planning
◦ Leverages data to regularly report on donor engagement, goals, events, campaigns, and other metrics of success. Makes recommendations based on this data.
◦ Provides direction to the Provincial and Leadership team on items related to development.
◦ Collaborates and consults with the Financial Advisory Board and committees.
◦ Minimum of five (5) years of experience in development, fundraising, or related field
◦ Proven track record of success in the development efforts of religious institutes, including annual giving, events, campaigns, in-house mailings, major gifts, and planned giving.
◦ Experience as a fundraising strategist and relationship builder
◦ Strong management skills with a collaborative leadership style
◦ Desire to innovate and creatively, collaboratively solve problems and maximize
opportunities
◦ Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with
all the constituencies – Provincial, Council, Basilians, apostolate staffs, donors, and
volunteers
◦ Knowledge and understanding of the mission of the Sisters of St. Basil and the
Ukrainian Catholic Church preferred
◦ Possess superior communication and presentation skills to express the Basilian
mission, vision, and goals with clarity, passion, and persuasion.
◦ Possess strong IT skills
◦ Possess a strong work ethic, competitive nature, strategic thinking, and planning
skills.
◦ Experience securing grants and corporate sponsorship.
◦ Proficiency in Microsoft Office and donor management software: social media
proficiency
◦ Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
◦ Optional but not required: bi-lingual, English Ukrainian language skills

Mental/Physical Requirements
◦ Regular attendance at the Provincial Motherhouse
◦ Ability and willingness to travel and work nights and weekends as needed for
meetings and events
◦ Ability to drive; must maintain valid driver’s license
◦ Frequently required to walk, stand, bend, and sit
◦ Frequently required to lift pull, and/or move up to 10 pounds
◦ Work environment is an office with a low noise level
