Up Closets of North Detroit transforms homes with custom closet and storage systems built to last. We're a small, tight-knit team that takes pride in showing up on time, doing the work right, and leaving every home better than we found it. We're looking for a reliable Install Assistant to help us do just that.
Duties
- Pick up customer orders from our warehouse using the company work van
- Transport materials safely to job sites across our service territory
- Assist lead installers with measuring, cutting, and assembling custom closet components according to construction plans and technical drawings
- Handle material staging, tool management, and on-site organization
- Support the installation of closet systems, trim, fixtures, and hardware in residential settings
- Dispose of packaging, cutoffs, and job site trash professionally
- Help load and unload product, keeping the van stocked and organized
- Represent Up Closets with professionalism inside customers' homes
- Follow safety protocols and care for company equipment and tools
Qualifications
- Valid Michigan driver's license with a clean driving record
- Comfortable driving a full-size work van in residential areas
- Physically able to lift 50+ lbs and be on your feet throughout the day
- Reliable — we need people who show up on time, every time
- Basic comfort with hand tools (drills, saws, level, tape measure) is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during installation tasks
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills
- Prior experience in construction, installation, or trades helpful but not required
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn on the job
