Position: Human Resources Assistant | Part-Time NON-EXEMPT position

Reports To: Director, Human Resources
Under the supervision of the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Assistant performs a wide variety of Human Resources and administrative tasks.
This is a part-time position, requiring scheduled hours with some flexibility.
- Oversee onboarding activities to include preparing orientation packages, scheduling and conducting New Hire Orientation, collecting tax and payroll documents, and verifying employment through E-Verify.
- Assist employees with access to the on-line benefits enrollment and management system; ensure elections are registered with carriers and communicated to payroll staff.
- Manage checklist and documentation associated with employment changes, including updates to benefit carriers and payroll staff.
- Enter, monitor, and update employee information in benefits system and Human Resources Information System (HRIS) related to new hires, salary adjustments, status changes, qualifying events, and terminations.
- Utilize an online system to update contributions to be placed on deposit with the retirement plan trustee and recordkeeper.
- Ensure personnel records are filed in a timely manner, effectively manage current and archived HR records.
- Reconcile invoices, obtain payment approvals, and remit payments as needed.
- Assist in administering leaves of absence such as workers' compensation, Family Medical Leave (FMLA), short-term disability, and long-term disability.
- Manage employment posting and update as needed.
- Complete annual IPEDS data submission and other employment reporting requirements as assigned.
- Provide overall assistance to the Director and perform or participate in other projects and duties as assigned.
- Must have two (2) years of Human Resources and/or Administrative support experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability and discipline in handling confidential information.
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, best practices and procedures within Human Resources.
- Intermediate to advanced skill in the use of databases, spreadsheet applications, and word processing, preferably with Microsoft Office and Google Programs applications.
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
- Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree is preferred.
