Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Maintenance/EVS (Environmental Services) Director to lead our facilities maintenance and environmental services teams. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the maintenance, repair, and safety of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), and low voltage systems across our facilities. Your leadership will ensure that our environment remains safe, efficient, and compliant with all safety regulations while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Duties
- Lead and supervise facilities maintenance teams responsible for mechanical systems repair, electrical systems troubleshooting, plumbing system maintenance, HVAC system repair, and industrial maintenance activities.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs utilizing CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to optimize equipment uptime and reduce downtime.
- Oversee safety compliance by enforcing OSHA standards, safety regulations, and proper maintenance repair procedures across all operations.
- Manage projects related to facilities upgrades, repairs, or new installations by coordinating resources, timelines, and budgets effectively.
- Interpret schematics and technical drawings to troubleshoot engineering issues related to mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and low voltage systems.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify potential hazards or system failures; respond promptly with effective solutions.
- Train and mentor team members on maintenance best practices, safety protocols, and technical troubleshooting techniques using tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters.
- Ensure all work adheres to safety regulations while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency in facilities management.
Requirements
- Proven management experience supervising facilities maintenance or environmental services teams in a large-scale environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in HVAC system repair, electrical systems troubleshooting, plumbing maintenance, and industrial equipment repair.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics interpretation, and engineering troubleshooting techniques.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards along with experience implementing safety procedures within a facilities environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and documentation purposes; experience with CMMS software is highly desirable.
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to lead diverse groups effectively while fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Strong project management capabilities to oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Electrical experience including working with low voltage systems; ability to use tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing.
- Effective communication skills in English for clear reporting and team coordination.
- Certifications related to HVAC systems repair or industrial maintenance are preferred but not mandatory.
