Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide high-quality patient care across a variety of healthcare settings. Duties
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and comfort.
- Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature while maintaining accurate medical documentation.
- Support patient transfer methods using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques to ensure safety for both patients and staff.
- Administer medications under supervision in accordance with facility protocols and maintain detailed records in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Provide specialized care for patients with conditions such as dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or developmental disabilities, ensuring their safety and dignity.
- Assist with medical procedures including phlebotomy, catheter care, and aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards.
- Collaborate effectively with nurses, physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care plans.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations while managing medical records and documentation accurately.
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) from an accredited program; additional certifications such as CPR or BLS are preferred.
- Experience working in diverse healthcare environments including long-term care facilities, hospitals (including ICU or trauma centers), hospice care, or outpatient clinics.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/Epic/eClinicalWorks/Cerner) systems for documentation and patient data management.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support procedures essential for effective caregiving.
- Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely using proper techniques; experience with Hoyer lifts is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills tailored to caregiving contexts; ability to work compassionately with geriatric patients or individuals with disabilities.
- Experience working with infectious disease protocols and maintaining strict aseptic techniques in clinical settings.
- Ability to adapt quickly within fast-paced environments such as emergency medicine or urgent care settings while maintaining attention to detail.
