In this hands on role, you’ll keep the facility clean and welcoming for animals staying with us for boarding, daycare, and grooming. Kennel Techs are responsible for feedings, medications, potty walks. It’s a great opportunity to gain real experience working with animals and make a meaningful difference in their lives every day.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, administering meds, basic care, and cleaning kennels.
- Monitor animal health and behavior, reporting any concerns promptly to the appropriate staff.
- Safely handle and restrain animals using proper techniques to ensure the safety of both pets and team members.
- Exercise, socialize, and enrich dogs to promote positive behavior and reduce stress.
- Maintain clean, sanitary, and organized kennel areas in accordance with facility standards.
- Accurately document feeding schedules, medication treatments, behavioral observations, and daily care activities.
- Assist with general facility upkeep and support the veterinary or boarding team as needed.
- Provide friendly, professional service to clients and help ensure a positive experience for both pets and their owners.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with animals in a kennel, veterinary clinic, pet grooming salon, daycare, shelter, or pet sitting environment is preferred.
- Comfortable handling animals of various sizes, breeds, and temperaments.
- Knowledge of safe animal handling and restraint techniques.
- Basic understanding of animal care, hygiene, and pet grooming practices.
- Ability to lift and move heavy supplies and assist with larger animals when needed.
- Dependable, hardworking, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Genuine compassion for animals and a strong commitment to their health and welfare.
