Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough medical assessments, physical examinations, and patient evaluations to determine diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic and EMR systems to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate inpatient and outpatient care, including perioperative care, critical care, and specialty services like cardiology, neurology, endocrinology, and psychiatry.
- Participate in clinical research trials and contribute to evidence-based practice improvements.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, ICD/CPT coding standards, infection control protocols, and hospital policies to maintain patient safety and confidentiality.
Requirements
- Medical degree from an accredited institution with valid licensure to practice medicine in the relevant jurisdiction (MD or DO).
- Demonstrated proficiency with EHR systems such as Athena or similar platforms; familiarity with medical records management is essential.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, medical terminology, diagnostic radiology, and clinical evaluation techniques.
- Ability to perform procedures such as suturing, gastric lavage, wound care, ostomy care, and basic life support (BLS).
- Critical care experience including ICU or neurocritical care is highly desirable; additional expertise in specialties like cardiology, nephrology, pulmonology or reproductive endocrinology is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service and health coaching; ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
