AWS certified welder with fabrication experience. You will be welding various grades of aluminum, carbon steel, and alloy steels using MIG and TIG. You will be responsible for performing precision welding tasks including fixturing, layout, weld prep, and various kinds of welds. You will ensure that every weld meets structural integrity requirements and complies with industry codes such as, but not limited to: AWS D1.1, D1.2, and D17.1
CWI a plus.
Key Responsibilities
Welding Operations: Perform high-quality MIG and TIG welding on various materials including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
Quality Inspection: Conduct thorough visual and dimensional inspections of welds before, during, and after fabrication to identify defects like porosity, cracks, undercut, and/or lack of fusion.
Testing Coordination: Perform visual inspection of all welding and coordinate NDT with quality assurance lead.
Certification: Maintain AWS certification in D1.1, D1.2, D17.1, and other processes as required.
Experience: 3 - 5 years of welding experience (certified with AWS) in MIG and TIG.
Technical Skills: Proficient in reading blueprints, interpreting complex weld symbols, and using precision measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, and fillet gauges.
Education: Technical degree in welding technology or metallurgy preferred.
Physical Ability: Ability to move and work around large weldments and be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
