Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and guide them to their tables with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring clear communication with kitchen staff and baristas
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
- Upsell menu items including cocktails, wines, spirits, and specialty dishes to enhance guest experience and increase sales
- Process cash and credit card transactions efficiently, ensuring accuracy in sales transactions processing
- Maintain knowledge of wine pairings, cocktail recipes, and food safety standards to provide expert recommendations
- Assist with food handling, sanitation, bussing tables, and supporting kitchen staff as needed to ensure smooth operations
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, including fine dining or casual dining settings
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; experience with OpenTable is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and handle guest relations professionally
- Excellent time management skills to manage multiple tables efficiently during busy periods
- Knowledge of beverage service including spirits, wine knowledge, drink service techniques, and cocktail experience
- Ability to process cash transactions accurately while maintaining attention to detail in sales transaction processing
- Basic math skills for handling bills, tips, and change confidently
- Food safety certification or knowledge of sanitation standards preferred; culinary or kitchen experience is a plus
- Previous experience in hospitality roles such as host/hostess or bussing is advantageous
