American Traveler is hiring a Special Education Teacher for a Mod/Severe Affective Needs elementary classroom requiring experience with highly impacted students with severe emotional disabilities.

Non-clinical setting in an elementary school (K-5th grade)

Special education classroom serving students with Mod/Severe Affective Needs
-
Caseload beginning with 11 students, subject to change due to transitional housing and district enrollment
-
Classroom supported by three experienced Special Program Paraprofessionals
-
Additional support from full-time admin, school psychologist, social worker, Social Emotional Learning Specialist, and school psychologist intern
-
Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 7:15 AM to 3:45 PM (40 hours per week)

Experience working with highly impacted students with severe emotional disabilities required

Strong collaborative skills to work closely with paraprofessionals and the Special Education team

License required if applicable

Colorado CBI and FBI fingerprinting clearance required upon contract signing

Support students in an inclusive model designed to help them transition into general education settings to the greatest extent possible

Collaborate with a highly experienced and supportive team across grade levels

Program has been recognized by other schools with Affective Needs programs for its structure and success
