Security Service Technician

Role Summary:
The role is responsible for servicing equipment, installing equipment, responding to service calls in a timely manner, conducting site surveys, performing installation startup, system commissioning, and customer training by performing the following duties.
Core Functions:
- Familiarity with Commercial Alarms and Cameras and Recorders is required. The position will require training and eventual proficiency in DMP Alarms and March Cameras and Recorders, as well as other brands: Avigilon, Verint, Honeywell, etc.
- Installs and services electronic and physical security products including pulling wire per applicable specifications and codes. Physical security products include drive up systems, vaults, doors, safes, locks, safe deposit boxes, drive up windows, deal drawers, alarms, cameras, DVRs, NVRs, cash recyclers, etc.
- Tests all installed/serviced electronic and physical security equipment to ensure proper performance and compliance with customers’ requirements and all applicable codes.
- Use Salesforce App on phone to receive work orders, track mileage distances, log parts needed, and communicate with office and customer.
- Travels to client’s site for equipment failure troubleshooting and repair.
- Expected to travel for up to a week at a time when necessary.
- Cross training to provides maintenance on ATM/ITM banking products (e.g. problem diagnosis, component level repair, application reload, preventative maintenance, documentation and planning/maintaining spare parts levels, including weekend on call.
- Accounts for all installation and service tools/equipment and all job parts/inventory.
- Communicates important project status information to office as necessary
- Communicates with customers on job status or completion (installation or service).
- Completes and turns in all required electronic “paperwork” in a timely manner according to established procedures and deadlines.
- Follows Purchasing protocols with office to track and replace parts used.
- Maintains and controls assigned truck stock inventory in an organized manner.
- Maintains control and safeguards all company or customer property or information of which employee has been entrusted.
- Use personal vehicle to transport equipment and materials for work duties, mileage is logged by reimbursed.
- Maintains clean driving record and operates personal and company or rented vehicles using safe driving practices.
- Responsible for training less experienced employees and trainees on company procedures, systems, and installation/service techniques.
- Ensures all work is performed to Southern Bank Equipment & ATM’s quality standards and practices.
- Works in compliance with Federal/State laws regarding safety of self and others.
- Perform weekend service calls occasionally.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education/Experience:
HS Diploma or GED equivalent minimum; Three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Curiosity, problem solving, and mechanical aptitude are useful attributes and skills.
