Youth Town of Tennessee is a residential substance abuse and mental health facility for boys and girls ages 13-17. We hire gender specific for the program, for example men work with the boy's program only.
While at Youth Town the residents receive counseling and attend our on-site school. Meals are provided and residents live in dorms. Youth Town is a level 2 facility.
Current Job Openings:
1 full time position at 40 hours/week with minimal overtime. We are hiring for Saturday and Sunday 12-hour nights 7p-7a plus 2 -8 hour nights 11p-7a during Monday through Friday time period. This is a 40 hour shift. Could be minimal overtime.
Responsibilities and Duties
The Team Leader is responsible for the safety and the leadership for their shift by:
- Roving the campus and providing support for the staff.
- Substituting for staff when needed.
- Specific responsibilities by shift assignment. For example,
o Review and ensure completion of all daily progress notes for your shift before the end of your shift.
o Respond appropriately to any verbal or physical altercations between residents using agency designation crisis management training.
o Document all altercations between residents and notify supervision.
· Provide staff training as needed.
· Other items as assigned by management.
In addition, the Team Leader is expected to:
· Clock in and out on time.
· Read your Youth Town E-mail daily.
· Maintain the shift schedule by adherence to time and location and activity.
· Comply to Youth Town policies
· Have daily interactions with the residents and provide mentoring, emotional support, and de-escalation as needed.
· Clock in and out on time.
· Respond appropriately to any verbal or physical altercations between residents using agency designated crisis management training.
· Ask for help when help is needed.
· Attend scheduled staff meetings.
· Complete required training.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education level.
- High School graduate or GED
Experience:
- Required minimum of 2 years of team leadership experience in a residential facility.
- Preferred stated team leader experience working in a residential substance abuse or mental health facility for adolescents.
Certifications:
- CPR or Youth Town will train.
Specific Skills:
- Computer skills as evidenced by assessment.
Licenses.
- Current TN Driver License and Vehicle Insurance
Physical abilities.
- Ability to walk between dorm and cafeteria and school, approximately 100 yards in total.
- Ability to walk with and keep up with teenagers.
- Ability to intervene in altercations between residents.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
