Busser / Food Runner / Expo – Year-Round
The Old Casino – Falmouth Heights, MA
The Old Casino is looking for a dependable and experienced Busser, Food Runner, and Expo team member to join us in a year-round position.
Located on Falmouth Heights Beach, The Old Casino is a busy waterfront restaurant with a fun atmosphere and a strong focus on friendly, efficient service. This is not just a seasonal summer position. We are looking for someone who wants steady, year-round restaurant work and can help wherever needed during service.
The right candidate will be energetic, organized, attentive to detail, and comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant. This position rotates between bussing tables, running food, and assisting at the kitchen expo station depending on the needs of each shift.
Responsibilities:
Bussing and Dining Room Support
- Clear, clean, and reset tables quickly and properly
- Keep tables supplied with water, silverware, napkins, and other necessary items
- Assist servers with clearing plates and maintaining their sections
- Keep the dining room, service stations, and surrounding areas clean and organized
- Help create a welcoming and comfortable experience for guests
- Communicate promptly with servers, hosts, bartenders, and managers
Food Running
- Deliver food to the correct tables accurately and promptly
- Confirm that each order is complete before leaving the kitchen
- Announce dishes clearly and professionally when placing them on the table
- Handle plates carefully and follow proper food-safety procedures
- Communicate guest requests, missing items, or order concerns immediately
- Help ensure that hot food is delivered hot and cold food is delivered cold
Expo Support
- Organize completed orders and ensure every plate matches the ticket
- Check orders for accuracy, presentation, proper sides, sauces, and modifications
- Coordinate with cooks, servers, and food runners to keep service moving smoothly
- Prioritize orders and help ensure that meals for the same table are delivered together
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient expo station
- Communicate delays, missing items, and special requests clearly
- Assist with garnishing and final presentation when directed by the kitchen team
General Responsibilities
- Complete assigned opening, closing, and side-work duties
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Follow all restaurant, food-safety, and workplace policies
- Restock service stations and supplies throughout the shift
- Work cooperatively with both the front-of-house and kitchen teams
- Assist with other restaurant duties as needed
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant experience as a busser, food runner, expo, server assistant, or similar position is strongly preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Dependable, punctual, and ready to work
- Able to stay organized and maintain a sense of urgency during busy service
- Comfortable communicating with both kitchen and dining-room employees
- Able to follow tickets, table numbers, seat numbers, and special instructions accurately
- Able to stand and walk for extended periods and safely carry trays, plates, and restaurant supplies
- Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed
Position Details
- Job type: Year-round, full-time or part-time
- Pay: $15.00–$18.00 per hour, plus tips during eligible tipped service shifts
- Schedule: Day, evening, weekend, and holiday availability may be required
- Location: The Old Casino, Falmouth Heights, Massachusetts
- Start date: As soon as possible
