Overview
Join our dynamic fabrication team as a Fabrication Technician 1, where you'll play a vital role in transforming technical drawings and blueprints into high-quality metal components. This entry-level position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in metal fabrication, welding, and mechanical assembly within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You'll work closely with experienced technicians to ensure precision and adherence to safety standards, contributing directly to the creation of complex structures and systems. Responsibilities
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately fabricate metal parts and assemblies.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
- Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and welding techniques following AWS (American Welding Society) standards.
- Measure materials precisely using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices to ensure dimensional accuracy.
- Assist with lifting and positioning heavy components on forklifts while adhering to safety protocols.
- Interpret mechanical schematics and technical drawings to guide fabrication processes accurately.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all safety guidelines related to shop math, ASME codes & standards, and general manufacturing practices.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and welding.
- Experience with blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings or schematics.
- Ability to operate shop tools such as power drills, grinders, drill press, etc...
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes and mechanical blueprint interpretation.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with an understanding of shop math principles necessary for precise fabrication tasks.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment within a manufacturing or fabrication shop setting.
