Position Overview
The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) serves as a clinical leader within Neuro Haus and is responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services.
The BCBA conducts behavioral assessments, develops individualized treatment plans, supervises Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), provides parent and caregiver training, and collaborates with interdisciplinary providers to ensure coordinated, whole-person care.
This position offers an opportunity to help build one of the nation's first comprehensive Neurodivergent Community Resource Centers while shaping innovative, evidence-based ABA programs that improve outcomes for children, adolescents, and adults.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Leadership
- Provide clinical oversight for ABA therapy services.
- Ensure treatment aligns with BACB Ethics Code, Maryland COMAR regulations, Medicaid requirements, and payer guidelines.
- Maintain high standards of clinical quality and client outcomes.
- Participate in program development and quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with leadership on expanding innovative ABA services.
- Support compliance, accreditation, and continuous quality improvement activities.
Behavioral Assessments
Conduct comprehensive assessments including:
- Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs)
- Skills Assessments
- VB-MAPP
- ABLLS-R
- AFLS
- Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scales
- PEAK Relational Training System
- Social Skills Assessments
- Functional Analyses (when clinically appropriate)
Develop individualized treatment recommendations based on assessment findings.
Treatment Planning
- Design individualized ABA treatment plans.
- Establish measurable treatment goals.
- Analyze behavioral data to guide clinical decision-making.
- Update treatment plans based on client progress.
- Complete insurance authorization and reauthorization requests.
- Develop behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
Supervision
Provide supervision to:
- Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs)
- Behavior Technicians (BTs)
- Students pursuing BCBA certification (when applicable)
Responsibilities include:
- Direct observation of therapy sessions
- Clinical coaching
- Performance feedback
- Competency assessments
- Fidelity monitoring
- Documentation review
- Ensuring supervision requirements meet BACB, Maryland, and payer standards
Parent & Caregiver Training
Provide ongoing caregiver education related to:
- Behavior management strategies
- Functional communication
- Daily living routines
- Social skill development
- Executive functioning
- School readiness
- Generalization of treatment goals
- Crisis prevention and response
Conduct family meetings and parent training sessions in person and via telehealth.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration
Collaborate with:
- Licensed Psychologists
- Mental Health Therapists
- Speech-Language Pathologists
- Occupational Therapists
- Physicians
- Schools
- Case Managers
- Community Partners
Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning to ensure coordinated care across all services.
Program Development
Support the development of:
- Early intervention programs
- Social skills groups
- Executive functioning programs
- School readiness initiatives
- Transition-to-adulthood programming
- Community integration services
- Parent education workshops
Assist with the development of innovative neurodivergent-centered programming throughout Neuro Haus.
Documentation & Compliance
Complete accurate and timely:
- Assessment reports
- Treatment plans
- Supervision documentation
- Parent training notes
- Progress reports
- Insurance authorizations
- Reauthorizations
- Clinical documentation
Ensure compliance with:
- BACB Ethics Code
- HIPAA
- Maryland COMAR regulations
- Medicaid requirements
- Commercial insurance requirements
- Neuro Haus clinical policies
QualificationsRequired
- Active Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification.
- Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) eligible or licensed in Maryland (preferred or ability to obtain).
- Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience providing ABA services.
- Experience supervising RBTs and Behavior Technicians.
- Experience conducting behavioral assessments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
Preferred
- Experience in autism diagnostic collaboration.
- Experience with insurance-funded ABA services.
- Experience in early intervention.
- Experience with interdisciplinary clinical teams.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming practices.
