WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We are currently looking for a part-time Janitor/Cleaner to join our facilities team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, focused, and can work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment to ensure all assigned venues and designated areas are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. This position must be available to work at different venues located throughout Minneapolis, Saint Paul, and the surrounding cities, including the First Avenue Mainroom, 7th St. Entry, Turf Club, and Fine Line.
ABOUT THE FACILITIES TEAM
The Facilities team's goal is to ensure the day-to-day cleanings run as smoothly as possible to create a clean and safe environment for employees, customers, artists, performers, musicians, bands, band representatives, vendors, and suppliers. This team ensures that all offices, restrooms, bars, green rooms, mainroom areas, front of house restaurant, and back of house kitchen areas are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and maintained in accordance with health, sanitation, and safety regulations.
POSITION SUMMARY & TRAINING STRUCTURE
The Janitor reports directly to the Assistant Facilities Manager. As a part of our facilities team, our janitors are responsible for following proper cleaning, sanitizing, and safety procedures, including the safe operation and use of cleaning equipment and supplies. This position will primarily work at different venues in Minneapolis, Saint Paul, and the surrounding cities to support the operational and staffing needs of the company. The Janitor will work and train alongside the Assistant Facilities Manager, facilities staff and other coworkers. Key responsibilities and duties are outlined below.

JOB DESCRIPTION
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Consistently executes cleaning and sanitizing lists.
- Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all assigned areas to ensure venues and restaurants are ready to be open for business to the public.
- Thoroughly sweeps, mops, cleans, and sanitizes assigned areas, including offices, restrooms, bars, green rooms, mainrooms, front of house restaurant, and back of house kitchen areas.
- Cleans restroom equipment, including sinks, toilets, urinals, and floors to ensure they are ready for use by employees and customers.
- Checks and refills restroom supplies, including soap, hand towels, paper towels, toilet paper, sanitary napkins, and sanitary napkin trash bags to ensure they are properly stocked and changed.
- Checks, cleans, and sanitizes restroom supply holders, including soap dispensers, hand towel dispensers, toilet paper holders, sanitary napkin dispensers, and sanitary napkin trash bins to ensure they are all properly cleaned, changed, and maintain good condition.
- Removes and disposes of all trash and recycling in designated receptacles.
- Understands how to safely use, store, and dispose of cleaning products, including products with bleach or hazardous chemicals.
- Ensures security of all public and non-public building entrances, exits, and exterior premises before, during, and after shifts.
- Performs walks around the interior and exterior of venues, restaurants, and parking lots.
- Ensures sidewalks are free of debris, snow and ice.
- Clears obstructed areas inside and outside that may prohibit safe building entry or exit.
- Informs Facility Supervisor of any safety and health hazards, including broken and nonfunctioning equipment, to prevent any injuries from occurring.
- Maintains a positive attitude and works with a sense of urgency to complete tasks.
- Maintains a high level of organization and preparedness.
- Demonstrates regular attendance and punctuality.
- Assists and supports the managers and coworkers to achieve department goals.
- Willingness to work at different venues to support the operational and staffing needs of the company and the department.
- Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Access all areas of the the venues and restaurants
- Regularly use and dispose of cleaners and chemicals, including bleach, according to safety policies and procedures
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow instructions outlined in Safety Data Sheets, including protocol hazardous materials
- Ability to regularly and efficiently clean sinks, toilets, urinals, and floors
- Ability to quickly sweep, mop, clean, and vacuum floors in large areas
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time
- Move, lift, and carry products from outside receiving area to designated areas inside of venues and restaurants.
- Lift and place items onto shelves at various heights
- Climb up and down ladders as necessary
- Ability to quickly bend, lift, reach, grab, pull, push, and carry items weighing up to 45 pounds
- Ability to use touch-screen devices, point-of-sale screens, and mobile devices
QUALIFICATIONS
- The ideal candidate will have a valid high-school diploma or GED with a minimum of two years of experience as a janitor, commercial cleaner, or a relevant cleaning experience within the restaurant or hospitality industry
- Excellent communication skills
- Must demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality
- Demonstrates ability to take initiative, work independently, and be self-motivated to produce quality work, complete all required tasks, and perform all venue-specific cleaning duties.
- Must be highly organized and detailed-oriented
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- The Janitor/Cleaner must be willing and able to work flexible hours and a rotating weekly schedule for a 7-day week operation, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, with regular attendance necessary.
- Must work a schedule that aligns to the business, operational, and customer needs
- Must be available to work nights and weekends for closing shifts
- Must be 18 years of age or older for this role
- Must be currently eligible and possess authorization to work in the United States of America
- Must not require sponsorship by our company for work visas
- Must have reliable transportation
