We are seeking a Vocational Instructor to join our team, dedicated to empowering young individuals aged 17-24 through comprehensive workforce development programs. In this role, you will play a crucial role in preparing our students for successful entry into the workforce by imparting practical skills, fostering a positive learning environment, instilling a strong work ethic, and teaching tool skills, great communication skills, reliability and other job skills.

Lead groups of 68 YBB students (aged 1724) through projects which require MEP training, carpentry and other scopes of building

Facilitate handson training experiences, simulations, and realworld projects to enhance practical skills and build confidence among students

Deliver engaging and interactive instructional sessions to students, utilizing a variety of teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles

Teach students the skills needed to be productive members of a team on a worksite

Deliver YBB curriculum, including NCCER
-
Track and regularly assess student progress using YBB evaluation, providing constructive feedback and implementing strategies to address any challenges faced by students.

Quality control on the work performed by YBB participants

Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment.

Clean up worksite debris

Pick up materials and dispose of project waste in YBB vehicles

4+ years of experience in residential or commercial carpentry

Ability to comprehend schematic diagrams, blueprints, sketches, building plans and other specifications

Strong working knowledge of job site safety as well as ability to complete a company specific safety orientation

Reliable, responsible attitude and a compassionate approach

Effective communication skills to manage relationships

Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask to meet deadlines

Current driver’s license, with clean driving record
Regularly works around moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity. Noise level may be loud at times.
Frequently moves and positions equipment and construction materials weighing 40lbs, and occasionally 80 lbs. Must be able to use abdominal, lower back, and leg muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Frequently ascends/descends a ladder to install materials. Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination and stamina.
