Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed health histories.
- Administer medications and injections accurately following prescribed protocols, including IV infusions and catheter care.
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations such as specimen collection, processing, and basic medical imaging procedures.
- Monitor patients’ conditions closely, manage acute pain, and provide emergency interventions when necessary.
- Maintain meticulous medical documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality policies.
- Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including tube feeding, airway management, and use of ventilators or Hoyer lifts.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in settings such as ICU, emergency room, hospice care, or skilled nursing facilities to deliver holistic patient care.
- Educate patients and their families on health management strategies, medication administration, and post-discharge care plans.
Skills
- Proven experience working with diverse populations such as geriatric patients, individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia, and those requiring memory or Alzheimer's care.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding (ICD-9/10).
- Skilled in IV insertion, phlebotomy, catheterization, sterile techniques, and aseptic procedures.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation and patient record management.
- Ability to perform triage assessments efficiently in urgent or emergency situations; experience in acute care settings such as Level I Trauma Centers or ICU is highly valued.
- Knowledge of infection control protocols and long-term care regulations to ensure patient safety and compliance.
- Excellent communication skills for caregiver interaction and client education; experience working with children or neonatal ventilators is a plus.
- Capable of working independently while maintaining a team-oriented approach in fast-paced environments like hospital medicine or outpatient clinics.
