Position: Occupational Therapist (Director of Rehab)
Location: Santa Ana, CA
Job Description / Responsibilities:
- Provide a full range of occupational therapy services, including assessment, treatment planning and therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment consistent with the positions’ qualifications, professional practices, and ethical standards. This includes assessing, planning, and performing physical rehabilitative programs that improve the mobility, relieve pain, increase strength, and improve or correct the disabling conditions of patients, which have resulted from disease or injury;
- Have accountability for and will contribute to program development, qualify improvement, problem solving, and productivity enhancement in a flexible interdisciplinary fashion, including identifying and documenting treatment and rehabilitation goals, anticipated progress, and plans for reevaluation;
- Complete appropriate sections of the resident assessment instrument (RAI) and provide age-appropriate therapeutic interventions. This includes performing and documenting initial and follow up exams, evaluating data to identify problems and determine a diagnosis prior to intervention;
- Responsible for evaluating patient response to treatment and provide feedback to the rest of the team, while documenting the course of patient care including progress and continuing need for treatment;
- Ensure program staffing team supervision and development;
- Monitor team members competency, licenses/certifications, and memberships in applicable professional organizations;
- Coordinate the development of team members through structured activities;
- Assure that all patient activities are performed according to the company policies and procedures and all applicable state and federal laws and regulatory agencies;
- Participate in coordination of facility quality management and program evaluation activities;
- Participate in survey preparation activities;
- Participate in facility safety committee activities;
- Manage the delivery of care in the most cost-effective manner;
- Coordinate treatment activity between disciplines and team members; and
- Contribute to development of improved efficiency and productivity of program functions.
