New Justice Services is seeking to fill Intake Coordinator positions, working with mediation services in Onondaga and Oswego Family Courts. These are full time positions. These positions are responsible for screening family court cases for any intimate partner violence or child abuse, as well as assessing the interpersonal dynamics of the parents’ relationship in order to determine whether they are appropriate candidates for engaging in the mediation process.
These postions report to the Progam Coordinator for the family court to which they are assigned. Any parking or travel is reimbursed by the agency.
TASKS:
Obtain the clients contact information from the referring court or client.
Make client contact directly in the courts, as required; including calls, texts, letters and emails to the clients.
Create case files for each case (hard copy & or electronic).
Input the client information into the State data base and keep all notes and information updated in the database system.
Conduct individual case assessments of each party using the agency assessment tool.
Provide mediators with the case assessment.
Provide updates to the Program Coordinator/Mediator on any developments that impact the case.
Upon completion of a mediation, transmit the paper work to the appropriate program coordinator for review and submission to the relevant court.
Qualifications:
2-year degree or relevant experience. Strong communication and organizational skills. Competent with data entry and data base management. Comfortable with asking in-depth and sensitive questions of the agency clients. Able to follow protocols regarding case and client confidentiality.
