Overview
We are seeking a motivated and friendly Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our team. In this role, you will be the face of our store, serving both our cafe and our specialty market, providing exceptional service to customers while efficiently handling transactions. Your positive attitude and attention to detail will help create a welcoming environment for shoppers.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their inquiries.
- Operate the cash register and process transactions accurately using POS systems.
- Supervise stock levels and assist in restocking shelves as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area.
- Provide product demonstrations to enhance customer experience.
- Handle customer complaints or concerns with professionalism and care.
- Utilize basic math skills for cash handling and ensuring accurate change is given.
- Closing duties consist of helping with all dishes at the dish pit, vacuuming market rugs, sweeping & mopping market floor and taking out trash
- Assist in training new staff members on cash register operations and customer service protocols.
Skills
- Strong supervisory skills to oversee stock management and team performance.
- Proficiency in retail sales techniques to effectively engage customers.
- Excellent phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries over the phone.
- Experience working in a grocery store environment is a plus.
- Familiarity with cash registers and POS systems for efficient transaction processing.
- Ability to conduct product demos to inform customers about features and benefits.
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued, enhancing communication with diverse customer bases.
- Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
Tip Program
Our tip program averages about $7.50 per hour on top of regular wages
