At Herban Market, our Food Runners & Bussers play a vital role in creating an exceptional guest experience. This position ensures that every guest receives their food quickly, accurately, and with genuine hospitality while maintaining a clean, welcoming dining environment.
This is a fast-paced, team-oriented role that requires urgency, attention to detail, and a positive attitude. Food Runners & Bussers are expected to anticipate guest needs, support all front-of-house operations, and take pride in keeping the restaurant looking its best throughout every shift.
Primary Responsibilities
Food Running
- Deliver food promptly and accurately to guests.
- Verify each order before leaving the kitchen to ensure completeness and presentation.
- Communicate with guests when delivering food and answer basic menu questions.
- Monitor tables after food delivery to ensure guests have everything they need.
- Assist with carrying large orders and coordinating multiple-table deliveries.
- Alert a manager immediately if an order is incorrect or delayed.
Dining Room Service
- Bus and reset tables quickly and thoroughly.
- Keep the dining room clean, organized, and guest-ready at all times.
- Refill water stations, condiment stations, and self-service areas as needed.
- Monitor restrooms throughout the shift and maintain cleanliness.
- Sweep, spot clean, and maintain floors throughout service.
- Empty trash and recycling as necessary.
Guest Experience
- Greet guests with a friendly attitude whenever interacting with them.
- Offer assistance before guests have to ask.
- Help guests carry trays or large market purchases when appropriate.
- Respond professionally and positively to guest requests.
- Represent the Herban Market brand through excellent hospitality.
Team Support
- Assist cashiers, baristas, and bartenders during busy periods.
- Help stock front-of-house supplies throughout the shift.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house teams.
- Complete opening, mid-shift, and closing side work.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
Qualifications
- Positive attitude with a strong work ethic.

- Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods.
- Restaurant experience is preferred but not required.
