The Town of Danville is seeking a dependable, safety-conscious Truck Driver/Equipment Operator/ Laborer to safely operate commercial trucks and construction equipment in support of road maintenance, snow and ice removal, drainage improvements, and other municipal public works projects.

Primary Responsiblities
Operate dump trucks, plow trucks, loaders, backhoes, and other municipal equipment. Perform road construction, maintenance, grading, drainage, pothole repair, and sign installation. Haul construction materials, equipment, and supplies. Perform snow plowing, sanding, and ice control operations. Inspect, clean, and perform preventative maintenance on equipment. Maintain town roads, and municipal properties. Assist with emergency response and other Public Works duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum two (2) years operating commercial trucks and/or heavy equipment (or equivalent experience).
Valid CDL Class B required; Class A preferred. Ability to obtain required endorsements.
Must successfully complete CDL physical, pre-employment drug/alcohol screening, and background check.
Knowledge & Skills
Knowledge of road construction, drainage systems, equipment maintenance, municipal public works, OSHA safety practices, and traffic laws. Ability to operate heavy equipment safely, perform physically demanding work, communicate effectively, and work cooperatively with coworkers and the public.
Work Environment
Outdoor work in all weather conditions with overtime and emergency response required during storms and other municipal emergencies. This position reports directly to the Road Agent.
Compensation
Wages are set based on qualifications, certifications, and relevant experience. Regular work schedule is Monday through Friday. Overtime may be required during storms, emergencies, and seasonal operations.
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
