This contract opportunity is designed for a certified Special Education or Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher who is passionate about one-on-one instruction and dedicated to individualized student success.
This unique role centers on delivering comprehensive academic teaching and sign language interpretation for a student receiving home-based services. As the student’s primary educator and interpreter, you will directly support his learning journey and facilitate communication during external services such as therapies and vision instruction. You’ll be instrumental in creating a supportive, accessible, and engaging environment where the student can thrive.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education or DHH (Deaf/Hard of Hearing).
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and experience with sign language interpretation.
- Previous work with homebound students or individual instruction preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to adapt curriculum and instructional methods to individual student needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide full-time, in-person academic instruction at the student’s home near Cochran, GA.
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans in alignment with IEP goals.
- Interpret in sign language during additional services (e.g., therapies, vision instruction).
