Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Fabrication Manager to lead our manufacturing operations within the fabrication division. In this role, you will oversee the entire fabrication process, ensuring efficient production flow, high-quality standards, and continuous improvement initiatives. Your leadership will drive team performance, optimize manufacturing systems, and foster a culture of excellence and innovation. Duties
- Lead and manage all fabrication department operations, including production planning, scheduling, workflow execution, and daily manufacturing activities to meet safety, quality, cost, and delivery objectives.
- Supervise, coach, and develop production supervisors and hourly employees while building a high-performance team focused on accountability, communication, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure production schedules are achieved safely and efficiently while monitoring labor efficiency, scrap rates, downtime, and key performance metrics.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma principles, and process optimization techniques to improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Utilize SAP, ERP systems, production scheduling tools, and Excel analytics to track performance, analyze trends, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Monitor quality standards, implement corrective actions, and ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, safety policies, quality systems, and environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Purchasing, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Shipping teams to improve processes, resolve production issues, and maintain efficient operations.
- Oversee equipment maintenance activities, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend capital investments to increase reliability, safety, and production capacity.
- Manage material availability, inventory coordination, and supply chain processes to minimize downtime, reduce waste, and support production goals.
- Support employee hiring, onboarding, training, performance evaluations, and professional development initiatives to strengthen team capabilities.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement across all fabrication operations.
Skills
- Extensive experience in production management within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Proficiency with SAP, MRP (Material Requirements Planning), ERP systems, and production management software.
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques, process improvement strategies, and supply chain management principles.
- Expertise in using Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and process tracking.
- Certification in Six Sigma or lean management methodologies is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to lead teams effectively while promoting cross-functional communication and collaboration.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ability to manage production scheduling efficiently while balancing quality standards and operational capacity.
