Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant - II to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing complex accounting functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting financial reporting processes. Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory requirements.
- Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing procedures.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and bank reconciliations to verify accuracy of financial data.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and ensuring compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls.
- Utilize financial software such as QuickBooks, or similar platforms for data entry and reporting.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory compliance accounting standards including securities law, governmental accounting, and nonprofit accounting practices when applicable.
- Perform detailed Excel data analysis
- Collaborate with team members on technical accounting issues or complex financial concepts.
- Support mentoring of junior staff by sharing best practices in accounting procedures and software use.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; preferred.
- Proven experience in financial accounting, corporate finance, or public accounting roles with a focus on technical accounting principles.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance, regulatory reporting standards, and financial statement preparation.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as , QuickBooks, or similar tools.
- Demonstrated ability to perform account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, cash flow analysis, and balance sheet reconciliation accurately.
- Familiarity with governmental accounting standards and nonprofit sector regulations is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data through Excel data .
- Strong understanding of debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping systems, accrual accounting methods, and financial report writing.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment; mentoring skills are desirable.
