**Job Overview:** We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting with patient care and administrative tasks in a busy optical practice. **Duties:** - Provide exceptional patient care and support the optometrist during examinations, ensuring a comfortable and efficient experience for patients. - Conduct pre-examination tests, including visual acuity, cover tests, and retinoscopy, under the supervision of the optometrist. - Perform aseptic techniques and handle medical equipment to maintain a high level of hygiene and infection control. - Prepare and maintain patient records, including vital signs and medical histories. - Utilize medical coding and retail math skills to accurately process payments and manage inventory. - Assist with sales and marketing efforts, promoting the practice and its products to patients. - Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy and physiology to understand patient needs and provide tailored recommendations. - Maintain a clean and organized office environment, adhering to industry standards for cleanliness and safety. **Qualifications:** - High school diploma or equivalent required. - Previous experience as an optometric technician or in a related field is highly preferred. - Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Proficiency in medical coding and retail math. - Familiarity with sales techniques and the ability to work well with patients. - Ability to follow aseptic technique and maintain a clean environment. - Valid certification in phlebotomy or a related field is an asset. **Skills:** - Aseptic technique - Physiology knowledge - Medical terminology - Sales - Vital signs - Medical coding - Retail math - Retail sales - Anatomy knowledge - Optical
