Pay: $32.00 per hour
The American Cancer Society Hope Lodge provides a home away from home for cancer patients and their caregivers while receiving treatment. This is more than a maintenance role. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Maintenance Technician II to ensure the facility remains safe, comfortable, and fully operational for our guests.
Position Overview
The Maintenance Technician II performs a wide range of repair, installation, and preventative maintenance tasks to maintain the property and grounds in excellent condition while ensuring compliance with all safety standards and applicable regulations.
This role requires strong technical ability combined with a service-minded attitude and emotional intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform equipment installation, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance
- Complete work orders within 48 hours
- Handle basic HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, appliance, window, and fixture repairs
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and site-level maintenance tasks
- Prepare and maintain vacant rooms as needed
- Collaborate with approved vendors on maintenance projects
- Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies
- Participate in on-call emergency maintenance rotation
- Assist with training and mentoring newer technicians
- Attend required trainings and maintain certifications
- Promote and follow all safety standards
Environment & Physical Requirements
This is a physically demanding position. The technician must be able to kneel, bend, push, pull, climb stairs, work on ladders, and lift 20 to 80 pounds with assistance when needed. Exposure to weather conditions, temperature changes, dust, noise, and power equipment may occur.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two-year technical degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Minimum four years of multi-family or commercial building maintenance experience
- Intermediate computer skills including email and Microsoft Office
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work on-call, occasional weekends, and overtime as required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving and time-management abilities
Tools Required
Technician must provide their own standard hand tools including but not limited to hammer, screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, drill, tape measure, multimeter, GFI tester, and related basic maintenance tools.

Compensation
