Duties

- Conduct thorough patient observations to detect behavioral changes, symptoms, or signs of distress, documenting findings accurately.
- Assist in crisis intervention efforts by de-escalating situations and applying approved techniques to maintain safety for patients and staff.
- Support psychiatric care by administering medications as prescribed, following all medical terminology protocols and safety procedures.
- Maintain detailed medical records related to behavioral health interventions, patient monitoring, and progress notes in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with nursing staff, psychiatrists, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment strategies.
- Provide compassionate patient care by engaging with individuals with disabilities or mental health challenges, fostering trust and cooperation within hospital or correctional facility settings.
Experience
- Prior experience working in psychiatric or acute care settings, preferably within hospital or corrections facility medical clinics.
- Knowledge of psychiatry principles, crisis intervention techniques, and behavior management strategies.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records documentation, and patient observation protocols.
- Hands-on experience with medication administration and patient monitoring in behavioral health environments.
- Strong understanding of psychiatric care practices and the unique needs of individuals with disabilities or mental health conditions.
- Proven ability to work effectively under pressure in fast-paced hospital or correctional clinic environments.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and engage patients empathetically.
